Let's Write A Love Letter!

Love is something like sports, we need to keep maintain it, refreshing it, and improve on it. Never ever say "Oh, my relationship is finally stable, can I take a break?" Do this, and you'll crack your head even more later trying to fix it..

Often times, we are so strongly connected to the ones we love, but somehow things just got stuck, we're meeting up quite often, chatting on the phone quite often, giving presents occasionally, those have became a routine, which might get boring after sometime.

So what do we do? Yes... We write letters! not just ordinary letters, write LOVE LETTERS! This could be the least expected from your partner, you'll be surprised on the reaction when they receive this from you. But you're not good at writing, HOW?! I came across something interesting lately, and decided to post it up here, might help!

  • Get personal - Start with Dear (your partners name), and sign the end with your name. This usually is the best approach to write a love letter

  • Get even more personal - I love you is good, but specifics are better. What do you love about this person? What are their best qualities.

  • Get fancy - Make sure you speak about their beauty and how it makes you feel. Be specific about their eyes, hair or whatever attracts you to them. But make sure you don't overdo it! Don't go write love letters saying all about how they look, they will think you only love her for her looks, and she might even get offended! (most girls are sensitive!)

  • The letter should be more about you than them - Make sure you include how the person makes you feel. Don't only say "you are wonderful", try something like "I feel wonderful being around you, because you are wonderful". They want to see you are writing it from YOUR heart, it should not be a series of compliments.

  • Be unique - Isolate something that the two of you share, or something unique about them that you often point out so the letter allows them to focus on you two rather than making them daydream about fairytale love.

  • Acknowledge your flaws - If you have neglected or taken for granted your partner, let them know you are flawed and hate hurting them more than anything in the world.

  • Tell them - You love them.

  • Use examples - Search for good poems online, use some phrases or formats with some modifications to not infringe and to stay original.

  • That's it! This should give you a great heart felt love letter or poem.

  • P/S : A love letter should normally only be sent to someone you are in a serious relationship with. Don't go write love letters to someone you are infatuated with.
